Stress Relieving
To your
specifications, we stress relieve anything from small parts to
fabrications 15 feet wide by 40 feet long.
Normalizing
From small parts
right up to big foundry castings and flame cut profiled plates
to 15 feet by 40 feet.
Normalizing Furnace-50 000lbs of profiled plates
Annealing
Tool steels,
profiled plates, castings, and fabrications, from small parts to
large pieces up to 15 feet by 40 feet.
Solution
Annealing
Higher temperature
annealing capabilities allow us to treat your high-alloy and
exotic stainless steel parts.
Cryogenic
Treatment
With temperatures
controlled to -320˚F, deep freezing provides stress relieving
and enhances wear properties of tool steels, extending tool
life. Re-treating by this method also extends the service life
of punches and dies.
Our cryogenic treatment capacity can handle small pieces and
parts up to 4 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet.

Super
30 Alcase Furnace
Hardening
In
an atmosphere-controlled environment, machinery steels, oil
hardening tool steels, and castings. Parts are tempered to
requirements after hardening.
Our batch hardening
line consists of seven batch furnaces with companion equipment.
We also house one of the largest batch furnaces in North
America, with a load capacity of 4000 lbs. and dimensions of 50”
x 60” x 36” high.
Case
Hardening/Carbonitriding Carburizing & Hardening
Case depths can be up to 3/16-in. With tight tolerances on
case depth and carbon percent parts can be selectively carburized.
Capacities are up to 50-in diameter or up to 9 feet long.
Nitriding
Gas and ion nitriding services are available to enhance surface
wear of treated materials
Vacuum
Treating
With seven vacuum
furnaces, our shops handle requirements for tool steel and
stainless steel parts up to 52 in., long. Selective quench
pressures of .85 bar through to 10 bar are available
Materials
Our shop has
equipment and staff experienced in treating all metals,
including stainless steel, copper, and bronze.
Client companies
bring us: forgings, castings, stampings, machined components,
tool & die, punching and cutting dies, frames, and other
fabrications, gears, shafts, rolls, shear blades, wear liners,
pump components, and prototypes.
Shot
Blasting and Painting Services
For customers who
require post-treatment finishing, Cambridge Heat Treating provides shot blasting, prime painting, and
specialty coatings of small pieces or large components, up to 40
feet long.
Shot blasting
services also incorporate any type of blast media required and
also abilities to blast to specific profiles or any
specification. We are capable of providing certification on
blast quality. Specific coatings can be applied to customer
specifications and dry film thickness readings or pin hole
testing can be certified and certifications provided as
required.
Our wheelabrating
facility includes an 8 foot table, and 4 foot table.
Before After
Micro-Hardness Testing
Our facility houses
an on-site laboratory with state of the art micro-hardness
testing equipment. Micro hardness analysis and carbon analysis
are available through our staff metallurgical personnel.
Documentation
Heat charts and
certification are available for all processes including shot
blasting, coating, and painting, to meet your quality
verification requirements. Certified to ISO 9001:2000.
